TASK 1 - PRODUCTION ANALYSIS
SETTING UP APPROPRIATE EQUIPMENT
In our VFX movie production, we used a DSLR camera with an added tripod along with a portable green screen mount.
Most of our shots were filmed free-hand on the manual setting to give a further element of focus on the character during the shot. We also made sure the camera settings were correct before filming by making sure the output file was a raw file so we can colour grade the footage better post-production.
When we did use a tripod, we made sure to use the correct mount on the camera along with the tripod so the camera didn't go out of focus as it was a windy day. Additionally, we used a tripod to gain extra height on one of our shots to give further immersion that the drone is speaking down at the character.
The portable green screen mount had to be carried carefully by two people to the correct position on the field we were filming as the equipment was already slightly damaged. We also had to make sure the lighting in the area we were filming in was the same as the footage we previously filmed so that there is continuity within our VFX movie.

FOLLOWING SAFE WORK PRACTICES
During our shoot, we had to identify potential risks and hazards which can accompany us. This meant we had to be more warry of how we get to the locations of our shots and how we handle equipment to make sure faulty equipment doesn't cause harm to the producers or the cast.
FOLLOWING PRODUCTION PROCESS
In our production, we all had a role to play in making sure the footage and the handling of equipment was of a good standard.
Additionally, we as a group made sure to signal each other to when the camera was rolling with hand gestures or with someone counting down. We also made sure to give feedback after each shot on how it could be improved or if we should try a different angle which could potentially be more effective for the message were trying to portray to the audience.
After the filming, we took all the footage off the cameras we used then imported them onto one persons desktop which then we organised the footage accordingly with names/numbers and deleted all the scrap footage. We also recorded separate voice-overs in a different room to make sure we have a high standard of audio quality. We then uploaded all the footage and voice recordings onto shared google drive for everyone in the group to access.
We all then individually edited a rough draft of our VFX movie not containing any editing apart from the movie being pieced together correctly.
